We act for a number of tenants along Belfast’s Lisburn Road that is suffering badly from the current economic downturn and open market rents have fallen by over a third in recent years.  However, landlords are still using rental evidence from before the recession to try and achieve unjustified  increases at rent reviews and lease renewals.

In a recent article in Northern Ireland’s Neighbourhood Retailer Magazine, Nick Rose argues that tenants need to talk more and take professional advice to ensure that they are not paying over the odds.
